We are working on the SDGs.

SDGs is an abbreviation of “Sustainable Development Goals”, which is an international goal aimed to achieve by the year of 2030. SDGs were adopted in the United Nation SDGs Summit. The SDGs consist of 17 goals (to achieve) and 169 targets (more concrete criteria). Not only leading global companies but also other companies started to work on the SDGs.

We also aim to "protect the life on land", which is one of the SDGs goals, by tackling CO2 reduction and by promoting the sylvatic cycle (from cutting to planting) by making the solid wood flooring and walls from the forest occupying 70% of our land for achieving the goal "a society with wood". Aim of our products is to provide various private and public facilities including houses, hospitals, schools and facilities of health and welfare with solutions to improve air cleanliness in interior spaces by making technical advancement on the photocatalystic technology, which the Japanese are proud of, changing it to a visible light-sensitive type. Focusing on multi-functional, visible light-sensitive photocatalyst "Air Wash Flooring", we will bring "health and welfare to everyone" as a goal of SDGs by creating safe and comfortable interior spaces.

Greeting from the company president

President
Soichiro HigashiNitto was established in 1951 as a company producing lumber for building materials. In 1969, the first president succeeded in mass producing “Flooring made of Hinoki” exploiting its off-cuts for the first time in Japan. He had developed value added products and proposed the use of off-cuts of the Hinoki. Furthermore, he tried to mass produce glued laminated floor and wall wood also utilizing their off-cuts and achieved No.1 producer of “flooring and wall panel made of Hinoki” 9 times in 1986, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016. In addition, in 2017, we developed and launched a revolutionary product “Air Wash Hinoki”, which has deodorant and VOC reduction effect realized by light-sensitive photocatalyst reaction for the first time in the solid wood flooring industry. We will keep making effort of developing products utilizing unused lumber taken from the forest thinnings for making our environment better and protect from global warming according to our company motto “Originality and innovation”. 1972 First factory was built in the woodworking complex in Hayasuzu-cho, Miyakonojo-shi, Miyazaki

Access from highway
Exit Miyakonojo IC and continue on Route 10 to Kagoshima direction.Turn left at Hiroguchi junction then continue to go straight.Turn right at "Miyakonojo Keisatsusho mae (Miyakonojo Police Station)" junction and continue to go straight.Turn left at "Mokko Danchi Iriguchi (Woodworking complex entrance)" and then, turn left at the corner of "Hashizume Kagu (Hashizume Furniture)" and continue go straight 50m to the destination.

Taking a train
Get off JR Kyusyu at Nishi Miyakonojo Station. Take a taxi to the destination. It takes about 15 minutes from the station.
